Our dedicated College and Israel Guidance team works hand-in-hand with each student and family to help chart a thoughtful, personalized path for life after high school. Whether planning a year of growth in an Israeli yeshiva or applying to top-tier colleges and universities, our advisors provide expert support every step of the way.
From choosing the right yeshiva, to navigating SATs, applications, interviews, and financial aid, we guide each talmid toward opportunities that match his goals, values, and potential—ensuring he leaves MTA confident, prepared, and inspired for what comes next.
The College Guidance staff at YUHSB plays an active and thoughtful role in helping each student navigate the world of higher education and plan for the future. Through individualized conversations and ongoing support, they help students explore their goals and understand how those goals can be translated into meaningful college and career paths. Whether a student is aiming for a yeshiva, university, or both, the process begins with listening—getting to know each talmid’s interests, strengths, and aspirations.
Throughout the journey, the guidance team provides clear direction on every step of the college admissions process, including standardized testing (SAT/ACT), application timelines, and essay preparation. While many students choose to continue their studies at Yeshiva University, the staff works tirelessly to identify and recommend a range of top-tier institutions that best fit each individual. The goal is not just college acceptance, but a well-informed, confident choice that sets each graduate up for long-term growth and success.
Each year, approximately 95% of our graduates choose to spend a year—or more—learning in a yeshiva in Eretz Yisrael before beginning college. This formative experience allows students to deepen their commitment to Torah learning, gain independence, and strengthen their spiritual foundations in an environment that fosters personal growth.
To support this important decision, MTA provides a comprehensive Israel Guidance process for both students and parents. The program begins with a group orientation and continues with one-on-one meetings with our Director of Israel Guidance, who works closely with each student to help identify the yeshiva that best aligns with his goals, learning style, and hashkafa. Throughout the year, a wide range of Israeli yeshivot—from Hesder to American-style programs—visit our campus, giving students the opportunity to explore and interview with multiple schools, all without ever leaving the MTA building.
