Social/Emotional Guidance

No Student Navigates His Educational Journey Alone

Our Academic Guidance team works closely with each talmid to ensure he is placed in the right courses, challenged at the right level, and supported every step of the way. From course selection and honors placement to Regents prep and long-term planning, we provide personalized guidance tailored to each student’s strengths, goals, and learning style.

With regular check-ins, close collaboration with faculty, and an open-door policy, our advisors help students thrive both inside and outside the classroom—preparing them for success at MTA and far beyond.

Personalized Support Every Day

MTA is committed to supporting each student’s emotional well-being alongside his academic and spiritual growth. A full-time social worker and certified school psychologist are available daily for informal check-ins, short-term support, and referrals when needed. Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming space where students feel heard, understood, and empowered.

A Whole-Team Approach to Student Wellness

Our guidance staff meets with every student informally and works closely with Rebbeim, teachers, deans, and administrators to ensure that no student falls through the cracks. They are attuned to the social, emotional, and interpersonal challenges that teens may face, both in and out of school. Parents are encouraged to partner with us and reach out whenever they have concerns or when life changes arise that may impact their son’s experience at school.

Proactive Programming and Community Care

Beyond one-on-one support, the guidance team organizes workshops, wellness programs, and events throughout the year designed to help students build resilience, strengthen relationships, and navigate the complexities of teenage life. Through open conversations and consistent outreach, we foster a culture of care that supports every talmid’s growth and development.
